Julian Heninger received the Bowerman Track Club elite male runner of the year award and recently qualified for the Olympic Trials in his first marathon!
Julian has been a Steens camper, tent assistant, and last year a coach.
Steens “5, 6, and 7th man” – Tye Van Schoiack – is at the World Track and Field Championships in Doha Qatar.
He is working for Nike Global Track and Field as a Massage Therapist for any and all Nike Athletes.
The world championship ends on Oct 6.

Charlie Romans was our camp bus driver for 10 years during the early years of camp.This summer at the age of 94 he made the long trek from Kentucky to camp for a Steens homecoming. While at camp he read us a poem he wrote back in 1991.
A BIG congrats to Sam Lewis (ex camper, counselor and now coach) on winning a USATF National Title today at the 2019 USATF National Trail Half Marathon Championships in Scranton, PA.
She ran 1:46:44 on wicked hard trail course. Sam pulled off this amazing performance after a year of going to grad school, coaching as a graduate assistant, and working to support herself, all while training to set up a race like this.
Session One and Session Two Steens Campers will be fitted with a brand new pair of Nike Trail Shoes upon arrival to Camp on July 14 and July 21.
