Jesica and Luke Mazziotti
A Brief History: Jesica has been coming up to Steens since 1988 as the daughter of Harland and Jan Yriarte. She went on to run for the Lady Axe back in the early 1990’s and has served in just about every role you can think of: sending letters in the early days, organizing brochures, licking stamps for Harland’s coaching packets, helping make PB & J’s at 4:00 am. She has always been one of the hardest working people for the Camp. She met her high school sweetheart, Luke Mazziotti, at South Eugene HS and they have been married since 1998.
Shortly after their marriage, Luke began helping Harland with Camp in many different ways. Recently, he has taken charge of all the transportation logistics that go into Camp. Luke and Jesica have been bringing their own children Jantzen, Grayson, and Karson up to Camp since they were tiny little guys. Just this past year, they welcomed their first grand-baby to Camp at just over 1 year old, named Atley. They will be welcoming a second granddaughter toward the end of Feb.
They currently live in Eugene where Jesica is a Special Education assistant at a local middle school and Luke is the GM for a heavy equipment company.
Favorite Parts of Steens: The amazing staff, great conversations, the ability to help others, camaraderie and friendships that have grown, the peacefulness of the mountain and gorgeous sunsets and infinite stars.
