Recommendations
- Best Western Rory and Ryan Inns – We reserved 25 rooms under “Steens 50 Reunion”. Just let them know you are there for the Reunion and you will get a discounted rate.
- Crystal Crane Hot Springs – Crane (20 minutes to Burns) is small desert town where Harland’s Dad, Louie, was from. Hot Springs in the middle of the Oregon Desert is something special.
- Frenchglen Hotel – sits 30 minutes to the Steens and 60 minutes to Burns. Historic spot that has family style dinners, easy walking trails, and underrated views of the surrounding areas.
- Hotel Diamond – Diamond is situated near the entrance of the Kiger Gorge. It also features the Diamond Craters and Pete French Round Barn. You are 40 minutes to Burns and 40 minutes to Steens Mountains.
- Central Hotel – The Central Hotel was built by Harland’s Grandpa in the late 1920’s. His Grandma ran the hotel until the early 1990’s. It has since been renovated in respect to its history of sheepherders, local ranchers, and historic past.
